Krieger

Krieger

The warrior awakes. He became warrior overnight. Now he is ready. Freed from time and space he now lives in the vision. Knowing. Knowing about the form of reality, the shape of time, the true nature of being human. He awoke from the dream that the collective dreams and is now fighting to awake others, other warriors. Determined to share the spark of knowledge with them, helping them to get up and stand on the ground of true reality. He exchanged the idea of individual isolation for that of connectedness, accepting and riding the wave that connects us all. He is spreading the spark of knowledge through the music. And there where it touches you, waking up and unleashing what is sleeping deep inside you…

Sounds like the summary of an experiment with psychedelic substances? Or the colorful, yet metaphorical language from an ancient book on yoga and Buddhist enlightenment? Or even like that weird guy who tried to explain you his last insights on quantum physics and how it all connects (but you did not get him at all)? Maybe a bit of all, but actually it’s the summary of an amazing song called “Krieger”, German for warrior, written by Thomas D and published with his band “Die Fantastischen Vier” in 1995 on the album “Lauschgift”. Check it out...

At the time the song hit me head on. The lyrics allow interpretations in many directions, it’s easy to dwell on some lines and fall for deep philosophical contemplation. But it’s also very easy to fall for the powerful beat and simply let it inject some energy whenever you need it. Reason enough to dig it out again and share it!

In case your German is a bit rusty and you can read the lyrics here, or have a look at the English translation provided by this site.

Like it? Thomas D continued riding his philosophical song writing wave with 2 other similar songs that he bundled into what ha called the “tribal-trilogy”. “Millionen Legionen” and “Mein Schwert”.

Enjoy and let me know what you think!
